The longer story

Focus@Will's big idea was that music for work should be different from music for listening: stripped of hooks and vocals, sequenced so it recedes into the background. That idea holds up, and a lot of what came after, including us, lives downstream of it. Its approach is to profile you first: a short quiz, then a recommended channel and energy level. Its listing says the most easily distracted people need the most energetic music.

Neurowave makes the opposite design choice. Instead of profiling you once, it lets you choose every session. Every track is built with rapid amplitude modulation, the brainwave-entrainment technique used by dedicated focus-music products, and carries an explicit CortexDrive™ pulse strength from 1 (ambient texture) to 5 (the strongest pulse). A tired Monday and a sharp Thursday don't need the same setting. Focus Receipts then report only the sessions you actually completed. The evidence for entrainment is still mixed and response varies from person to person, which is why the trial is 14 days: long enough to test it against your own output.
